You will appreciate that
we must be particularly careful to inquire into the character and
background of applicants for supply work involving contact
with children under the age of 18. It is therefore company
policy to take up references for all applicants as part of the
application process.
Please complete the
referees part of the form on the registration page. The two
referees supplied should preferably be employers from the
teaching profession and with whom you have had either
professional contact or employment in the last two years.
Before completing the
registration form we must ask you to ensure that the referees
you are naming have confirmed to you that they will give you a
reference. PLEASE CONTACT THEM BEFORE
COMPLETING THE FORM.
We will
send your referees our standard reference enquiry and
upon receipt of satisfactory replies we will proceed with
your application. If we receive an unsatisfactory reference,
employment legislation prevents us from discussing the
matter with you, but we will ask you for a third referee.
For a newly qualified
teacher we recommend that the referees be the course tutor and
the head teacher of the school where the final teaching
practice was conducted.
Submitting
the registration form acts as authorisation for PRIMARY
SUPPLY to contact referees without further contact
with the applicant.
