INFORMATION FOR OVERSEAS TEACHERS

Primary Supply offers teaching opportunities throughout England. We have a number of overseas teachers working for our company on short and long term assignments. 

To work for Primary Supply you need:

  • To be a provisionally or fully registered teacher

  • To have the right to work in the UK in accordance with home office regulations which are quite stringent.

Do you have Qualified Teacher Status (Q.T.S.)?

Teachers in schools in England & Wales need qualified teacher status to take up a permanent position. This is granted automatically only for teachers qualified in member states of the European Union.

This does not stop you working for a supply agency on non permanent assignments and Primary Supply does not discriminate in either jobs or rates of pay.

Are you legally entitled to work in the UK?

The Working Holiday Visa - You are entitled to a one or two year working holiday visa provided you are not yet 28 years old. Under the terms of the W.H.V. working in the UK must be secondary to the reason for visiting the UK -  which must be travel. This must be applied for before you leave your own country. Applications should be made to the British High Commission.

Dual Nationality in Britain, or another European Union Country automatically entitles you to work in the UK.
