There are lots of teacher supply agencies. But PRIMARY SUPPLY is unique for several reasons.

• PRIMARY SUPPLY is a Leicester-based agency. We’re not a huge-but-impersonal national company. We serve an area that covers everywhere within Leicestershire and Rutland. And, within this zone, we know the area, we know its schools, and we know its headteachers.
  
• PRIMARY SUPPLY lets schools advertise their own vacancies on this site. This service is free of charge for a trial month. Thereafter the fee is very affordable. And users may post ads for not only teachers and nursery nurses but also ancillary and support staff. Ads are checked for content and will usually appear on the day they’re submitted.
  
• PRIMARY SUPPLY is focused on providing supply teachers and nursery nurses for primary schools. So ordinarily we deal only with supply staff, long-term placements and permanent positions for primary schools and private nurseries. This focus allows familiarity from which both schools and supply staff benefit.
  
• PRIMARY SUPPLY is long-established. We’ve been operating with the same owner, staffed by the same people, since 1994. So we’re not a fly-by-night operation with ever-shifting staff. We were the first commercial supply operation in Leicestershire! We’re well-known and trusted. And we’ve cultivated good working relationships with clients and personnel that reflect the length of time we’ve been in business.
  
• PRIMARY SUPPLY makes the Quality Mark redundant. We operate to standards which exceed those required by the DCSF and the REC. We apply those self-same standards to nursery nurses, who are not covered by the Quality Mark. We utilise photo-ID badges, which are not insisted upon for agencies except those on London’s PSL. We ask for, and follow up, 3 references rather than the 2 that are legally required. And we conduct monitoring visits to observe staff in school so that we can appraise their performance.
  
• PRIMARY SUPPLY pays to the DCSF pay scale – and publishes the rates its staff are paid. Annual pay rises are acknowledged and increments are given. What’s more, our rates are published on this site. And we do this for teachers and nursery nurses alike!
